BCA GOLF OUTING
– The BCA held its 54 Annual golf outing on June 7, 2010. The
CAl cosponsored this event and the turnout was wonderful
CONSTRUCTION CAREER DAY
– On Friday, March 12, 2010 the CAl was one of the many sponsors for
the Construction Career Day
which attracted over one thousand high school students. This event has
taken place over ten years and is continuing strong through its
sponsors. The opportunities for apprentice programs in a craft union
typically open up once a year. All the trades have an apprentice
program. They can go from apprentice, to journeyman, to foreman, to
superintendent.
LEED OVERVIEW PRESENTATION – On
October 22, 2008 starting at 10:00 a.m. at the Westchester Marriott
located in Tarrytown, Mr. Michael Deane, Vice President, and Chief
Sustainability Officer for Turner Construction provided us with a LEED
overview presentation. The title of his presentation was "The
Contractor's Role in Sustainable Construction". The session ran for
approximately 90 minutes and with questions and answers.

- Laurel Brunelle, Program Director of The CAl, provided a
booth to present the many opportunities that the CAl has to offer to
both architects and engineers.
